The monster world is a land that is inhabited with many different species of monsters. Originally, Chomp's mother was the queen of all of the monsters, but when the Kid Kings first appeared, many of the monsters thought that they were the ones from the ancient Monster Tale legend. However, many others believed that they weren't, and a war broke out between the two parties. The war ended when the Kid Kings overthrew and defeated Chomp's mother, and took over the lands. Now Ellie, the latest human to discover this world, has to explore these kingdoms, defeat and free the enslaved monsters, and save the monster world from the Kid Kings.
The six different kingdoms/places of the Monster World are:

- Deanuford
- Zoetopia
- Ethanica
- Prissingham
